Industrial bedroom—steel, wood, sleep
Steel, brick cues, raw oak, and low clutter. An industrial bedroom should feel calm enough to sleep in—not like a gift shop of Edison bulbs.
The material story
Keep one metal story and let wood or brick do the warmth.
- Steel — blackened platform, cage fixture, or iron hardware. Not every socket.
- Brick cues — keep real brick if you have it; do not fake a whole wall of peel-and-stick.
- Raw oak — nightstand, bench, or stool with honest grain.
- Textiles, not layers — charcoal wool throw, bone or steel sheets. No embroidered names.
Layout that sleeps
- Lower the bed — blackened steel platform, no footboard. A mattress on a throne already loses.
- One light you mean — kill the overhead globe. Cage sconce on the wall you actually read from. 2700K.
- Rug with a job — graphite low-pile, 8×10 minimum. Front of the nightstand on it.
- One nightstand — asymmetry reads intentional. Closed storage for the rest of the mess.
- Keep the window — industrial is dark paint and warm materials, not blackout-everything.
What to skip
- The matching oak suite from a 3-pack.
- Edison bulbs in every socket—one cage fixture is enough.
- Beige “hotel” art and gray-wash dressers.
- Steampunk gift-shop clutter on every surface.
